Holiday makers considering holidays in the Seychelles should take a look at the excellent Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort and Spa that sits on the beautiful North West coast of Mahé Island.

Even though the resort has recently been rebuilt, it still manages to keep its old world charm and friendliness that the Seychelles is renowned for. Situated on a rocky promontory next to small sandy coves, there are fabulous views of Silhouette Island and Beau Vallon Bay from the hotel. And, being west-facing, there are spectacular sunsets to be experienced – the best way of course whilst enjoying a sundowner cocktail! All the resort’s accommodation have sea facing views so that no one gets left out of the great view of the Indian Ocean.

The resort has an air of new world ambience and casual elegance. Tropical gardens provide a lush and green surrounding to the complex making this Mahé Island Hotel peaceful and tranquil for its guests.

Guests can choose either Deluxe Oceanfront Villas or Oceanview Hillside Villas. The interiors have a great mix of both contemporary and colonial décor that ensures guests get an authentic experience while retaining a sense of modern luxury. Mod cons such as air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, DVD players and iPod connections are standard in all rooms. Some luxury features that you don’t get everywhere include a rainfall shower and whirlpool bathtub that will no doubt mean you are relaxed to the max in your accommodation. Guests will wake up in their spacious four-poster beds to the sound of lapping waves on the nearby beach. Spacious lounge areas and large verandas ensure that you can relax without the need to leave the villa.

Dining at this Mahé Island resort is provided by three restaurants, with the main restaurant described as being one of the best dining experiences on the island thanks to the themed dinners and live show cooking. There is also is a fine dining restaurant offering a fine selection of international cuisine and an open air restaurant that caters for lunch and snacks throughout the day while guests take in the beautiful views.

As you would expect from a luxury hotel, the Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort has excellent facilities that include an infinity pool, 24 hour room service, a state of the art gym, open-air cinema, gift shop and Spa. The resort also organises events such as Sunset Cruises.

This Mahé resort is close to the Beau Vallon Bay – one of the best beaches on the island, as well as just 15 minutes from the capital Victoria including its Botanical gardens. The resort is popular with couples, particularly honeymooners.

Whether searching for a destination of unsurpassable romance or a holiday spot where you can get in touch with tropical environs, the Seychelles could be just the islands you’re looking for. Comprised of an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, the Seychelles offer a variety of experiences – all of them boasting a stunning oceanic backdrop. The tropical climate the area boasts – the Seychelles are located off the coast of East Africa and northeast of Madagascar – means that many are drawn to the islands to enjoy relaxing beach holidays. However, there are plenty of thrills and spills to be found on in the archipelago too. For example, the temperate Indian Ocean is the ideal place for water enthusiasts to make a splash. Windsurfing is one of the most popular options in the area, and the best time to have a go is typically around May and October at the beginning and the end of the trade winds. What’s more, scuba diving, surfing, snorkelling and fishing are all on offer and can be indulged in from most of the islands in the Seychelles. Those who prefer to enjoy the ocean in a more sedate manner will find it easy to locate yachts, power boats, catamarans or sailboats to help them explore the islands. There are also a number of guided walks and hikes around the islands so that visitors can witness some of their natural beauty on foot. Other activities typically on offer on the Seychelles islands include golf, tennis and horseback riding, meaning you’re sure to find your favourite way to keep active on a holiday to this stunning location. Culture vultures are also well catered to though, and the main island of Mah

Surely the Seychelles for us Europeans become a preferred destination for the winter when they are chosen as the ideal place to spend the holidays out of the routine and allowing you to escape from the cold we have been facing in this season. Not only that, a trip to Seychelles tourism can provide an all-round, ranging from relaxing on the beach to get to many events throughout the year there are just wonderful in this atoll.

Many of the events of the Seychelles are of course linked to the sea: surfing, sailing, fishing … for example, the Seychelles Sailing Cup, in January, includes races between the islands and fishing competitions between different types of boats from catamaran to yachts, but there are also other events: for example, the Festival of the Arts, between April and May, which tends to encourage the artistic creativity of the islanders. The arts festival are eligible for virtually all of them: painting, drawing, but also music and dance, including performances, forums and workshops, visitors and exhibitors are involved in a lively and varied environment, where they have the opportunity to meet – or have known – different types of artistic expression, traditional or not. Returning to the relationship with the sea in the first days of February, the World Wetland Week is held in late March while holding the Annual Fishing Tournament of Rotary.
